Paul W. Syltie was born and raised on a crop and dairy farm in southwestern Minnesota, through which a beautiful river valley flowed. It was within this idyllic pastoral environment that he grew to appreciate the natural world in all of its luster: the colors, scents, and sounds of the naturally created world.
